Meet Our Presenters

Bryan Wittmeyer

Director

Bryan Wittmeyer has been the Director of Rehabilitation Therapy at Roswell Park for the last 8 years. In this role, he has focused on quality improvement, service line growth, and innovation, including utilizing the newest technology, including the SafeGait, to improve outcomes for oncology patients.

Hillary Jacobson PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Hillary Jacobson is a physical therapist who has been working with oncology patients at Roswell Park for 11 years. Hillary was one of the initial therapists trained to use the SafeGait when Roswell purchased the device in 2017. She continues to be one of the most frequent therapists to utilize the Safe Gait, primarily with hematology oncology patients, and is working on future research and publications specific to this technology and patient population.

Dr. Andrew D. Ray

Associate Professor of Oncology

Dr. Andrew D. Ray is an Associate Professor of Oncology in the Department of Cancer Prevention and Control and Rehabilitation at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo NY. Dr. Ray received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy and his PhD in Exercise Science from the University at Buffalo where he focused on exercise, respiratory physiology, respiratory muscle structure and function. He also gained experience during his postdoctoral fellowship conducting prospective exercise trials, including respiratory muscle, for the United States Navy. In his current position, Dr. Ray has a dual position working as a physical therapist implementing prehabilitation and pulmonary rehabilitation for patients experiencing cardiopulmonary/breathing limitations. Dr’s Rays primary research interests include lung cancer, use of preclinical and clinical models to examine the effects of exercise and respiratory muscle training on symptom management and quality of life. He is currently the PI of an NIH R01 and Department of Defense Lung Cancer Survivorship award.

Matt is a physical therapist with over 8 years of experience in the areas of neurological rehabilitation, skilled nursing and sports medicine. Matt has experience in rehab management and is a specialist in the area of advanced rehabilitation technologies.

Kate Addis, DPT

Director

As the Director of Clinical Applications, Kate oversees clinical initiatives and operations at DIH in North America. She has a wide range of expertise in clinical Physical Therapy across the continuum of care, with emphasis on Neurorehabilitation. Kate also has experience in healthcare technology, implementation of robotics in rehabilitation and upper level management. She is passionate about transforming healthcare and improving patient outcomes through the incorporation of advanced technology into clinical practice.
